Blackbuck Antelope
Blackbucks are an antelope native to India and Nepal. One of the fastest animals on earth, it can outrun any animal over long distances. Adult males stand about 32” at the shoulder and weigh 71 to 95 pounds. The coats of males show a two-tone coloration; while the upper parts and outsides of the legs are dark brown to black, the underparts and the insides of the legs are white. Females and juveniles are a yellowish fawn to tan. The blackbuck is active mainly during the day. It forms three types of small groups, female, male, and bachelor herds. The circular rings on Blackbuck horns are unlike any other, making them one of the most beautiful wall mounts you will ever hang.
Blackbuck meat is one of the best exotic table fares around. Blackbuck are true gazelles; grazers. Grazers tend to be a mild meat with little to no gamey-ness.
